BAKAD Motorway Project Celebrates One Year of Successful Operation!

Our BAKAD Motorway Project, which we constructed with the Build Operate Transfer model, was successfully commissioned on 26 June 2023. It was recorded in our records that 16,455,484 vehicles passed through in just one year.

Our first winter maintenance season was challenging due to severe weather conditions such as heavy snowfall and low temperatures. Despite these obstacles, the BAKAD team demonstrated exceptional coordination and efficiency, ensuring uninterrupted traffic flow and road safety. 

 

We developed specialised methods and provided immediate and regular training to our staff, which was especially important in the early stages of the project's first winter maintenance. 

 

We used 4,000 tonnes of the 5,000 tonnes of salt procured and 58 tonnes of the 66 tonnes of CaCl in stock, and our fleet of 4 vans, 16 multi-purpose vehicles, 3 brine and water spray vehicles and 2 rotary snow ploughs worked tirelessly throughout the winter. 

 

During the operations, our teams selflessly carried out a wide range of maintenance activities, including

🛤️ Maintenance of roads and structures

Systematic cleaning of ❄️Yol surfaces from dust, dirt, snow, ice and debris

🌾 Cleaning of passageways, mowing grass and shrubs

🛠️ Cleaning of bridges, expansion joints, pipes and ducts

🛑 Keeping signs and railings clean and tidy

🧂 Procurement and application of de-icing materials

❄️ Removal of snow accumulations, profiling of snow cover and clearing snowdrifts from banks

📞 Advising users through the contact centre
